Counseling with
Children
From play therapy to behavioral programs, counseling is meant to help
children deal with a unique group of issues that impact them directly.
The counselors at OCC are specifically certified in dealing with
children.
At OCC, the combined efforts of the counselors and the parents are
required.
It is our belief that medication is not the first approach; it is the
approach of last resort.
We have a variety of strategies to help parents affect behavior without
medication. When medication is appropriate (as advised by your doctor),
we are committed to working with that doctor in order to maximize the
benefits of medication so that perhaps the lowest doses can provide the
greatest results.
We then work with the parents and doctors toward mutually resolving the
core issues of the child.
